    Shorty’s Place has a nautical theme, with Nova Scotia’s South Shore in mind. Our recently renovated quaint home offers accommodations for 7 people, with 2 bedrooms upstairs, the master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the second room offers a double and single bed with a futon in the living room that sleeps two adults.

    Old Town Lunenburg is one of only two urban communities in North America designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Seventy percent of the original colonial buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries continue to greet visitors with their colourful façades. We are a short car drive or 15-minute walk to the Lunenburg waterfront, walking/bicycle trail, tennis courts, golf course, grocery and liquor store. Everything you need is close-by.

      Nova Scotia is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is one of the three Maritime provinces and one of the four Atlantic provinces. Nova Scotia is Latin for "New Scotland". Most of the population are native English speakers, and the province's population is 969,383 according to the 2021 census.

      In either direction from Lunenburg - the cosmopolitan of Halifax, 20 minutes one way, and the glacier rocks of Peggys Cove, 20 minutes the other way. Halifax, the "City of Trees" is noted for its beautiful Victorian public gardens, the Maritime Museum, featuring a special exhibit of the Titanic, Citadel Hill (A Historical Fort), 5 Universities and an abundance of restaurants and entertainment.

      As part of the "Peggy's Cove" / "Prospect Communities" and in less then a 30 minute drive, you can explore a variety of craft shops, art galleries, kayak, canoe, whale watch, bird watch, walk a sandy beach and play a game of golf or visit a the historical site of the sinking of the SS Atlantic. We are ideally situated for day tripping.

      Within an hours drive, you can explore the Mahone Bay, tidal bore rafting on the Bay of Fundy- the world’s highest tides, taste test wine at a local winery, pick fresh fruit in Annapolis Valley and catch your plane flight back home.
